NY Senators Push Hydrocodone Restrictions

A bill currently in the Senate would help New York cut the illegal drug trade by reclassifying hydrocodone into the same restricted category as oxycodone. This reclassification would require patients to have a new prescription for the medication each time. Another bill with the backing of the state attorney general would meet the goal of restricting the illegal trade of drugs by mandating a 'real time' online review and reporting by pharmacists and prescribers for each prescription written for every patient.
