The U.K.'s National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence recently rejected three drugs from Merck, Roche, and Amgen. The drugs, Erbitux, Astavin, and Vecitibix, respectively, are designed to treat metastasized colorectal cancer, or cancer that has spread to other areas of the body. The ruling was made as it was not felt that the drugs offered enough value for the money to be worked into the publicly funded National Health Service.
