Novo Nordisk has announced that it will be accepting applications for Novo Nordisk Community Care Houston, which is part of the Novo Nordisk Community Care program. The program is a community-based initiative that offers support to local programs that educate people on living with type 2 diabetes and aims to promote sustainable change. A total of $80,000 will be invested to support the programs in Houston. More than 20 diverse community-based programs were sponsored by Novo Nordisk in 2011, with $415,000 being awarded to organizations in Atlanta, Boston, Minneapolis, and Philadelphia. The 2012 scholarships are being offered to eligible nonprofit organizations dedicated to educating and empowering patients in Houston in the management of their type 2 diabetes and their engagement in their own health.
