Ablynx Receives Another Milestone as Boehringer Ingelheim Selects Nanobody Candidate for Pre-Clinical Development

A second Nanobody (R) candidate from Ablynx was chosen by strategic alliance partner Boehringer Ingelheim to start pre-clinical development. As part of the alliance agreement between the two companies Boehringer Ingelheim has paid Euro 5 million to Ablynx. The Nanobody candidate chosen for pre-clinical development has been designed to mess up the functions of two proteins that are believed to play key roles in human cancers. Boehringer Ingelheim will be in charge of developing the Nanobody.
