FDA Approves Gilead HIV Drug NDA

The new drug application for Gilead Sciences' Viread has been given approval by the FDA. Viread is an oral power co created by Aptalis Pharma and Gilead to treat HIV-1 infections in pediatric patients in combination with other antiretrovirals. Aptalis will manufacture the powder with it's microencapsulation taste-masking technology and supply the product to Gilead who will handle product commercialization.
