Endo Completes Transition of OPANA ER Franchise to New Formulation Designed to be Crush Resistant

Endo Health Solutions has announced the completion of the transition of its OPANA ER franchise to the new formulation which has been designed to be crush resistant. With the transition complete, the FDA has moved the old formulation of OPANA ER to the Orange Book Discontinued List, as it was "subject to both intentional and inadvertent abuse and misuse." All strengths of the original formulation of OPANA ER are now on the Discontinued List, leaving the new formulation as only currently available one on the approved prescription drug product list.
