"As Directed" Is Never Acceptable For Prescription Directions and Frequency

Upon clarification, it was learned that the physician intended to select the ophthalmic antibiotic, Ocuflox (ofloxacin solution 0.3 percent), but mistakenly selected Occlusal-HP, which appeared on the product selection list just before Ocuflox. If the pharmacy staff had not counseled the patient on the appropriate use of this drug, he might have received the Occlusal-HP preparation intended for wart removal.  read more»
