Medicare
Prescription Drug Coverage: Helping Patients With More Choices
and Better Benefits On December 8, 2003, President George W. Bush signed
into law the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and
Modernization Act (MMA) of 2003. It creates a new Part D,
which establishes a prescription drug benefit for people
with Medicare. This continuing education program will delve
into key points related to implementation of this change

Through literature searches, providers have determined a
need for addressing pharmacologic pain management therapy
in older adults. This activity was designed to provide an

Often pharmacists can become confused with the professional
responsibility to ensure access to medications, especially
opioid analgesics; and the legal-regulatory duty to prevent

Therapy Appropriate Care: Helping Women Make Informed Choices
Because many caregivers and patients are unsure about the
indication, benefits, and risks associated with Hormone
Therapy, educating health care professionals about current
